 e made by Rene Venegas\, a 16th generation silversmith. His family was one
  of the first to arrive from Spain to the Americas. His ancestor\, Felipe 
 Venegas\, was the silversmith for the early cathedrals in the Dominican Re
 public and stamped the first European coins in the New World.  He has been
  making jewelry since he was a child in his father’s silver shop in Bogota
 \, Colombia and has been teaching jewelry and silversmithing classes at We
 ber State for 15 years. In addition\, he has been featured in The Standard
  Examiner\, The Signpost\, KUTV Inside the Story\,  FOX13 Good Morning Uta
 h\, The Salt Project and KTVX Good Things Utah.
