Director of United Partnerships

Reports to: President & CEO

The Director plays the critical role of guiding the United Partnerships initiative to generate increasingly meaningful results for children and families. The Director will play a leadership role within United Way, guiding the Ogden United team, strategic partners and the United Partnership Council.

About United Partnerships:
----------------------------------------
The goal of the United Partnerships initiative is to ensure all children and youth have access to great schools and strong systems of family and community support that will prepare them to attain an excellent education and successfully transition to college and career. The initiative uses the “Collective Impact“ framework to work with a wide range of community stakeholders (non-profit, public, and private entities). In order to achieve community level change strong partnerships at the school, community, and regional levels need to exist. This means developing strong relationships of trust with stakeholders; maintaining continuous communication; focusing on specific shared goals and a common agenda; using and sharing data to target resources and engage in continuous improvement processes; and aligning resources, programs, and policies into mutually-reinforcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
----------------------------------------
*Advisory Board - In partnership with the CEO, oversee the “United Partnership Council,” a leadership Advisory Board co-chaired by a State Senator and School District Superintendent. 

*Impact Coordination – Oversee the work of the Impact Coordinators, including coalitions, contracted services, and strategic partnerships related to early childhood, K-12 education, postsecondary education, health and housing.
*Community Schools - Work with the Community School Director, Ogden School District (OSD), and community partners to support the provision of comprehensive supports and expanded learning opportunities to drive student success.
*Partnerships – Oversee key partner relationships, trainings, and strategic planning.

*Impact Coordinators (3.5fte)
*Community School Director (1fte) – jointly supervised with Ogden School District Administrator (provide some limited support for the Community School Coordinator team)
*Grant Budget Manager (.2fte)
*Will also have support from shared Administrative Assistant

Other Responsibilities:

Grant Management:
*Manage several state, partnership and private grants that fund the core job responsibility areas.

Coordinate with United Way Leadership:
*Work closely with the Director of Research, Assessment and Evaluation whose role is to oversee all data support for the United Partnerships initiative (assessment, evaluation, data management, dashboards, etc.)
*Participate in United Way’s management team, demonstrating a commitment to building collaboration among managers, staff, programs and departments.
*Work collaboratively with President & CEO and Director of Marketing and Development on development efforts and branding/marketing.

Position Requirements:
----------------------------------------
*Master’s degree in Education Leadership, Social Work, Public Admin or related field.
*Minimum of 5 years working in education or human services field.
*Experience in education/human services managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
*Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple institutions.
*Experience working on state or federally funded projects.
*Experience supervising professional staff.
*Demonstrated ability to design, implement and execute projects.
*Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
*High standards of professional ethics and conduct.
*Strong public speaker; excellent written communication skills.
*Strong skills in Microsoft Office/Google Suite productivity tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
----------------------------------------
*Ph.D. in Education Leadership, Social Work, Public Admin or related field.
*10+ years working in education or human services field.
*Experience as a Director or Department Head in a non-profit/LEA/public organization.
*Experience working within a Collective Impact framework.
*Familiarity and history of service within the landscape of education, community. development and social services networks in Ogden.
*Bi-cultural/bi-lingual English/Spanish.


Wage: Competitive - based on experience and qualifications ($70,000 - $85,000)
Location: Ogden, Utah
Hours: Full-time with competitive benefits package (health, dental, and 403B match of up to 10% after one year of employment).
