Financial Stability Network Facilitator

Title: Network Facilitator, Financial Stability

Summary of Work:  Living in a low-income household can have adverse effects on a myriad of factors in an individual’s life. It can lead to poor physical, emotional, and behavioral health. It can negatively impact educational outcomes. And it can impact the opportunities an individual has to achieve economic mobility.  United Way focuses on supporting families in Education, Income, and Heath, and we are seeking a Financial Stability Facilitator to help address these challenges. 

This is a unique position that requires a unique skill set. In this role you will have support from senior leadership as well as join a strong team of facilitators doing similar work (e.g. health and education outcomes). UWNU facilitators are unique in that our goal is to improve whole community outcomes. This means our core function is to work with community partners to develop solutions that improve the lives of large numbers of people. 

The Financial Stability Facilitator’s role will be to (1) understand what resources are currently available, (2) understand best practices employed across the state and country, and (3) work with community partners to implement solution(s) that will improve financial stability at a community level. As such, the Network Facilitator of Financial Stability must be an adaptive leader, an out-of-the-box thinker, and a relationship-builder with people across the political spectrum. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Beginning with the Financial Stability Landscape Analysis that has recently been conducted, develop a comprehensive understanding of financial stability solutions in five areas:
  • Financial products to manage money and achieve financial goals (i.e. checking/savings accounts, investments, loan options, etc)
  • Financial support services (i.e. managing credit, budgeting, saving for major purchase
  • Job readiness (i.e. education and training to acquire stable and productive careers)
  • Financial policy/systems (i.e. policies and systems that minimize predatory practices and/or promote economic mobility)
  • Support United Way’s affordable housing efforts, with potential that this could become a key responsibility  
  • Be willing and interested in working within the local political environment to understand multiple perspectives and expand what is possible in terms of financial stability.
  • Working with partners, identify opportunities and/or solutions that can be implemented locally to improve the financial stability of large numbers of Ogden and Weber County residents

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field (e.g. public health, education, social sciences, human services, etc.)
  • Experience facilitating diverse groups of individuals to an actionable and measurable outcome
  • Familiarity with work in financial stability
  • Proficient in multiple software platforms 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in data manipulation and visualization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bicultural/bilingual English/Spanish
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • 3-5 years working in human services or related field
  • Experience managing large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Experience with Results Based Accountability and Results Based Facilitation
  • Experience managing large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects

Salary, Schedule, and Benefits: Full-time with a highly competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, disability, life, and a 403(b) match of up to 10% of your salary after 1 year of employment. 

  • Annual salary is $47,000 to $57,000 depending on experience.
