Title: Resource Development and Marketing VISTA

Summary of Work: The Resource Development and Marketing VISTA will help support the Resource Development Team’s mission is to build strong lifelong relationships with United Way’s constituents, match donors’ interests with the community needs and prioritize and secure the financial resources necessary for United Way to achieve excellence in supporting children, youth and families through individual giving, corporate campaigns, and grants.

Key Responsibilities:  

Donor Engagement: Help build systems that engage United Way of Northern Utah donors and effectively communicate our mission.

• Research survey methodology to create and administer surveys to learn more about donor segments and their motivations.
• Create a donor stewardship toolkit that helps improve process to collect stories that will be included in donor thank you materials.
• Create and implement a process for an annual donor thank you event to increase recognition and engagement of UWNU donors.
• Research and create a database of unique and engaging signage options within our budget to increase donor engagement during annual drives.

Volunteer Engagement: Help build systems that engage United Way of Northern Utah volunteers, strengthen their relationship and desire to financially support our mission.

Corporate Engagement: Help build systems that increase engagement of United Way of Northern Utah corporate partners and foster relationships with new corporate partners to support our mission.

• Build communications micro kits and marketing plans for individual Year of Action events to engage and reach new corporate partners.
• Create community calendar for corporate partners to engage their employees through targeted, interest-driven groups as requested.
• Create “Campaign in a Box” for small businesses to run employee giving.
• Expand employee giving campaign toolkit and other corporate assets.
• Research new corporate partners and coordinate findings with Corporate Engagement Director.
• Create systems to expand capacity in tracking relationships with corporate partners.

ABOUT AMERICORPS VISTA PROGRAM
AmeriCorps is a national network of programs that address critical community needs in our nation.  Through AmeriCorps VISTA, you can make a tangible difference. AmeriCorps VISTA is a national program where community members have the opportunity to serve in local nonprofits helping to eliminate poverty. Members serving in the AmeriCorps VISTA program serve full-time for one-year terms. In return for service, members receive a living allowance, a healthcare allowance, and other benefits.

AmeriCorps VISTA Benefits:

• Monthly Living Allowance: $1,027.88
• Upon completion of service: $6345 Education Award to be used towards higher education tuition or school loans OR $1800 Cash Stipend

Position Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma
