Want to help people in need during the current pandemic? Unfortunately, this crisis has made things even more difficult for families in need. Calls to Utah 211 are up across the state. Some people are in need for the first time.
There are 3 ways that you can help during this crisis:
1. Make an ONLINE monetary donation.
The COVID-19 Community Response Fund will support local organizations responding to community needs arising from the Coronavirus Pandemic including:
• Food banks • Rental assistance • Homeless shelters • Crisis nurseries and child care providers • Health care services • 2-1-1 Information and Referral • Domestic Violence Shelters
2. Volunteer your time
Project Protect
If you have a sewing machine and some time, you can make clinical masks that can provide protection for our frontline workers in hospitals and other medical care facilities. Just under 4 million masks have been made so far by volunteers!
Other Agencies
Here's our list of local agencies that need your help. Many are virtual service opportunities.
3. Make in-kind donations
UWNU is a drop-off location for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Come by our office at 2955 Harrison Blvd between 10 am and 12 pm.
Check our list for other types of donations local agencies need. Examples include food, hygiene items, cleaning items, etc.
Thank you for your help. By donating money, time, and in-kind items, you can make a real difference for families in crisis.
