How to Volunteer
Recurring Volunteer Opportunities:
- Become a Literacy Tutor: Volunteer to read with students and help them improve their literacy skills. You will work one-on-one with students one to two times a week over the school year. Typically you will have the same students so that you have the opportunity to develop a relationship with the student and help them to feel confident in their abilities to learn and grow. *Training provided. Must pass a background check.
- Become a Mentor: Volunteer to mentor a student. You will work one-on-one with students one to two times a week to encourage them in their academic, behavioral, and social/emotional development. Typically you will have the same students so that you have the opportunity to develop a relationship with the student and help them to feel confident in their abilities to learn and grow. *Training provided. Must pass a background check.
One-Time Volunteer Opportunities:
- Career Presentation: Volunteer to share information about your career and the path that you took to get there.
- Support School Events: Volunteer to help with school events such as literacy events, Day of Caring events, and Read Across America day.
