Summary of Work: We are seeking a mission-driven Data Systems Coordinator to join our organization and help transform data into impact. This role is essential in supporting our data-informed culture, ensuring the work we do is strategic, measurable, and meaningful. Reporting directly to the Data Systems Director, you will play a vital role in supporting teams’ efforts in turning data into decisions and decisions into results. This position strengthens data practices and offers basic technical support to keep operations running smoothly. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Data Support and Quality Assistance: Assist teams in applying measures and indicators (“How much,” “How well,” “Better Off”) that align with their mission and the organization’s strategic plan. Support the Data Systems Director by supporting teams understanding and implementation of best practices for accurate, meaningful data collections tied to operational tasks. Work with Data Systems Specialist to prepare preliminary data summaries and reports aligned with logic models frameworks, helping programs measure outputs (“How much”) and outcomes (“How well” and “Better Off”) over time.

  • System Support:  Assist in configuring data fields, user permissions, and workflows in the organization's data collection platforms. Troubleshoot basic access and functionality issues. Escalate complex issues to the Data Systems Director or technical specialists. Support the maintenance of clean, accessible, and accurate data across platforms.

  • Staff Support and Data Literacy: Provide guidance and coaching to staff on proper data entry and collection practices. Answer data-related questions, ensuring data is handled accurately and in line with protocols and procedures. Assist in building staff comfort and proficiency with data systems through one-on-one support, quick reference materials, and group trainings.

  • Continuous Learning and Development: Participate in training opportunities related to data management, nonprofit impact reporting, and logic model framework and applications.

  • IT Support and Issue Escalation: Serve as the first line of IT support for team members by assisting with basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Triage and escalate to Tier 2 support for resolution when necessary. Assist in setting up new employee computers, software applications, and hardware.

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Competencies: 

  • Tech/data Proficiency: Comfort with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Google Suite and basic database usage. Ability to write simple formulas, queries, and assist with basic data visualization. Knowledge of SaaS platforms and implementation.

  • Written and Verbal Communication: Strong ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders through emails, verbal conversations, reports, and presentations.

  • Problem-Solving: The ability to troubleshoot issues, resolve conflicts, and adapt to changes quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Adaptability to Change: Willingness to adapt to new processes, technologies, and program requirements, and help others adjust as well

  • Results-Driven: Dedicated to shared and measurable goals for the common good; creating, resourcing, scaling, and leveraging strategies and innovations for broad investment and impact

Required Qualifications: 

  • 2 years of equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of how to create data-informed KPIs, measures or metrics to evaluate continuous improvement strategies

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and/or other data tools

  • Interest in learning nonprofit data management and using data to drive impact

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 4+ years of equivalent work experience

  • Familiarity with development of key performance indicators and strategic plans2+ years of experience with IT support

  • Relevant experience, coursework, certifications, or other continued education in data related subjects

  • Knowledge of data technology, data governance, and best practices

Compensation:  Wage: $22.00-$26.00/hour   Benefits: A competitive benefits plan includes vacation time, sick time, 12 paid holidays, and an organization-matched 403(b) plan of up to 10% after one year.

Location: Ogden, Utah (hybrid/remote work options available as approved by the direct supervisor).

Hours: Part-time (20 hrs per week with increase up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval when necessary and based on weekly business demands), non-exempt, hourly. UWNU hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Work hours are subject to change based on UWNU and/or events and activities happening in the community.

Physical Requirements: The Data Systems team personnel will work in an office sitting for extended periods using computer, keyboard, and mouse repetitively. Must be able to lift, carry, push/pull items weighing up to 20 lbs.
