Launch Event

Dec. 1, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. — Enjoy performances from the Davis School District, remarks from the Mayor and interfaith leaders, and special thoughts from Sarah Frei Mills (Strong.Like.Sarah).

“We are thrilled to bring the Light the World Giving Machines back to Ogden. We love the joy this brings to the community and hope it becomes a family tradition each holiday season,” said Rob Despain, chair of the Utah Ogden Communication Council for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How It Works

These reverse “vending machines” let donors purchase specific items, clothing, baby and hygiene supplies, meals, medical needs, and even livestock like chickens, for people in need. Items range from $5 to $170. 100% of every donation goes directly to participating nonprofits. Since 2017, more than two million visitors have donated over $44 million in goods and services.

Local nonprofit beneficiaries:

· Catholic Community Services

· Davis Education Foundation

· Family Promise of Ogden

· Ogden–Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP)

· United Way of Northern Utah

Participants can also take the “777 Challenge” by donating one of every item in the machine. If you can’t attend in person, donate online at lighttheworld.org/give.
