Our Learn with Playgroup families got a special visit.

About Learn with Playgroup: Our Learn with Playgroup program brings families with children aged 0-5 together to prepare them for kindergarten and create community. What better way to build a community than to learn about it? This program is looking for families and volunteers to support and join this program. Learn more here.

What families experienced: The families got to tour the Ogden City Fire Department's vehicles, gear, and tools they use to help keep the community safe. They learned fire safety, what to do in an emergency situation, and that while firefighters may look a bit scary in their full gear, they are there to help.

Fire safety tips from the firefighters:

  • "Close before you doze" refers to closing all windows and doors before bed which improves survivability  in house fires as it prevents fire from spreading.
  • Stop, drop, and roll is still the procedure if a person's clothing has caught fire.
  • Check all fire alarms every six months.

A special thank you: The Ogden City Fire Department crew were incredible in letting the families see and interact with their gear and were so kind and patient. A huge thanks to the crew members that took time out of their busy schedules so our families have this unique experience.

Change doesn't happen alone. Hope isn't a one-man band.

We have one life. To live better, we must LIVE UNITED.
