Is There a Cost to Volunteer?
No. Participation is free, but registration is required. There are also company sponsorship opportunities. If you would like to sponsor a site, please contact our Corporate Engagement Director, Tim Roper at troper@uwnu.org

Do I Need Volunteer Experience?
No experience is necessary! Projects are designed for volunteers of all skill levels and are a great fit for individuals, families, community groups, and corporate teams.

Can My Company Volunteer Together?
Absolutely! Day of Caring is a fantastic team-building opportunity. We encourage companies and organizations to register as a group and serve together.

Can I Choose My Volunteer Site?
Yes! During registration, you'll select your preferred volunteer site. Each site is limited to 50 volunteers and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a site reaches capacity, it will no longer be available for selection, so we encourage you to register early to secure your preferred location.

How Will I Know Which Project I'm Working On?
When you register, you'll select your preferred volunteer site. Prior to the event, you'll receive a project card with important details about your volunteer experience, including your project assignment, project manager's photo and contact information, project address, and any special instructions for the day.
When you arrive at your site, the site host will provide a brief welcome and overview of the projects taking place at that location. Volunteers will then be organized into project teams to ensure all projects are fully staffed and completed successfully. If you're volunteering with friends, family, or coworkers, we'll do our best to keep your group together.

What Should I Wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for outdoor work, closed-toe shoes, and anything you don't mind getting a little dirty. Don't worry—we'll provide your Day of Caring T-shirt!

Are Tools and Supplies Provided?
Yes. All necessary tools, equipment, and project materials will be available at each volunteer site.

What Happens if It Rains?
Day of Caring will take place rain or shine. If weather conditions require any adjustments, registered volunteers will be notified in advance.
