Weber CTC Youth Council at CADCA Leadership Forum!

Our journey to Washington D.C. and National Harbor for the #CADCALeadershipForum was an unforgettable experience for the Weber CTC Youth Council! From exploring our nation's rich history to engaging with key leaders, here are some of the highlights:

Day 1: A Deep Dive into History
We started with an amazing tour of Washington D.C., learning about the nation's monuments and presidents. We teamed up with Morgan CTC to visit the Arlington Cemetery, and joined Roy CTC at the International Spy Museum for a day filled with exploration and learning!

Shark Tank Challenge
Our youth took on the challenge of presenting creative sales pitches for products assigned by their peers. They had just 10 minutes to prepare, and their presentations were met with valuable feedback from both peers and advisors. The best part? They shared pitches that they would present to legislators, receiving expert feedback on how to refine their message!

Youth Council Awards & Recognition
Each member of the Youth Council was recognized for their unique qualities, including Johnathan (aka The Tissue Box) who brought extra personality to the event!

Engaging with Legislators
We had the incredible opportunity to meet with Senator Mike Lee and present him with a special gift, as well as thank him for his ongoing support of DFC funding. One of our members also got to speak with the senator about issues affecting our community.
Additionally, we had a private meeting with Representative Blake Moore where we addressed local concerns and toured the Capitol—what an inspiring experience!

After all the work, the youth had some fun downtime at the CADCA Youth Dance where one student won Best Dressed and another won Best Dancer.

We are so proud of our Youth Council for representing Weber CTC with passion, leadership, and dedication. We can’t wait to take the lessons learned and continue making a positive impact in our community!
