Everyone needs help sometimes: Support our coat and food drive

Two children sledding with winter clothing on

Season of Service is our annual giving campaign where the community comes together to donate turkeys, hams, new coats, and canned food. This year, we are kicking off our campaign early in order to get coats in the hands of community members before the critical weather hits.

These donations make a difference and an example is an experience we recently had with a local family. A mother, son, and their pet cat were experiencing a critical housing crisis that one of our partners was able to help solve by providing assistance to get an apartment. While they now had a comfortable place to sleep the struggle didn't end because her son had outgrown all his clothes, including winter appropriate ones. Money was already tight as she had to pay her deposit on top of regular living expenses so she didn't have enough to buy her son new clothes. Luckily, a Welcome Baby volunteer was able to get several outfits in the babies' new size and ones that would keep him warm in the fast approaching cold season. This is what UNITED looks like.
