OGDEN, UTAH — United Way of Northern Utah announced today that one of its largest corporate partners, Bechtel National Inc., reached $57,000 in combined corporate and employee contributions to its Northern Utah chapter, highlighting the company’s commitment to building healthy, stable, and well-educated communities in our local area.
“I’m so proud of our employees for the difference they’re making in our community through their generosity and volunteer efforts,” said Ron Hink, a Bechtel Principal Vice President and Sentinel Project Director in Ogden.“ Their spirit of giving back to communities in Northern Utah is an astounding example of Bechtel’s values of taking care of each other and recognizing that we all succeed together.”
Bechtel was also a proud gold-level corporate sponsor for the United Way’s 2025 Year of Action, a year-long movement of compassion. Year of Action mobilizes communities through supply drives, reading in classrooms, and days of service that uplift families and strengthen the foundation of our community.
“We are tremendously thankful for Bechtel’s investment in United Way,” said Julie Johnson, Chief Executive Officer and President of United Way of Northern Utah. “Bechtel continues to set the standard for corporate social responsibility in Northern Utah. Their commitment to community impact goes beyond generous financial support—they actively empower their employees to give back through volunteerism and service. Bechtel’s leadership inspires other companies to step up and be part of building stronger, more resilient communities. Because of support from companies like Bechtel, United Way is able to meet the critical needs in our community—turning compassion into action and creating lasting change where it's needed most."
Bechtel’s employees also volunteered during signature United Way events throughout the year including Stuff the Bus, where the team donated needed backpacks and school supplies for K-12 school students and STEM Action Day, where they hosted a booth inspiring children to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields through a day of fun-filled, hands-on activities.
