Copper Cuff Bracelet Class

Copper Cuff Bracelet Class, Fri Jan 16 at 7pm (Taught by Rene in classroom A and B, $35)

Are YOU ready to do something different and fun? We haven’t offered this class for a while and thought it is about time! Please join us for a fun and exciting copper cuff bracelet making workshop. Perfect for a New Year’s Mantra Bracelet.

What:
In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of jewlery making from from shaping the metal to hammering to produce textures and polishing it to a shine. You’ll also have the opportunity to get creative and can stamp a word or two or even a date.

We will provide all the necessary supplies, including copper, tools, and instructions. No experience is necessary, so everyone is welcome.

Here’s what to expect:

We’ll start by filing the bracelet and stamping words or dates.
Then we will shape the bracelet.
Once your bracelet is shaped, we’ll use sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges.
Finally, we’ll polish your bowl to a beautiful shine.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a beautiful and functional copper cuff bracelet that will last your life time.

Cost:
$35 per person

Ages:
12+. Younger kids can attend if accompanied by an adult.

Friday, January 16 at 7pm

Class is taught at The Local Artisan Collective, located at 2371 Kiesel Ave in down town Ogden, just a little south of the Megaplex.

About The Instructor:
This class will be taught by Rene Venegas, a 16th generation silversmith. His family was one of the first to arrive from Spain to the Americas. His ancestor, Felipe Venegas, was the silversmith for the early cathedrals in the Dominican Republic and stamped the first European coins in the New World. He has been teaching jewelry and silversmithing classes at Weber State for 15 years. In addition, he has been featured in The Standard Examiner, The Signpost, KUTV Inside the Story, FOX13 Good Morning Utah, The Salt Project and KTVX Good Things Utah.
