Education

Preparing for a successful life actually begins before a baby is born and continues through the early years of growth. Prenatal health, early childhood development, and family support are all critically important in the first five years of a child’s life. Our programs provide parent education and support, high-quality preschool, and health and developmental screenings. We partner with other local agencies, local and state government, school districts and private organizations to address the needs of families, giving each child their best chance for a healthy start and a lifetime of learning.

  • Our Welcome Baby program provides in-home visits and education to parents of children ages 0-3, supporting them in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher.

  • We offer parenting support through a free text service. Messages are targeted to the child’s age and include information on child development, language and early literacy, health and safety, behavioral tips, and local events.

  • Access to high-quality preschool is a key factor in a child’s ability to adapt to kindergarten and do well in school. We partner with YMCA to provide more kids with an opportunity to attend preschool.

  • We support healthy growth and development of our little ones. The Ages and Stages Questionnaire is a tool that engages caregivers in the development of their child. This screening tool can be completed for free through our partner Help Me Grow Utah.
